Friday Funnies - Zander

Our next funny comes from Mr. Funny himself. When I read this e-mail from Zanders mom last week, I laughed. When I opened the attachment with this photo, I about died. Here is their funny.

Last fall our little Zander thoroughly enjoyed harvesting the vegetables we watched grow all summer long. I was explaining to him what each vegetable was called. "Tomatoes, onions, cucumber, zucchini..." .

Zander responded, "I know what Zucchinis are! They're the things girls wear at the beach!"

Zucchinis = bikinis?

Only in Zander's mind :)

Friday Funnies - Oscar

photo

Oscar: Dad, I want to be a grown up
Dad: Why do you want to be a grown up?
Oscar: So I can be a race car driver
Dad: You should eat broccoli then
Oscar: Does broccoli help me grow up?
Dad: Yes
Oscar: I think I like being a kid for now

Oh Oscar, you crack me up.

Happy Friday!

Friday Funnies - Asher and Frankie

Our next funny comes from a beautiful friend of mine, Erin. She is the mother of three, smart,  hilarious and most definitely a hero of mine.

Frankie: (singing) I am a child of God, and He has sent me here; Has given me an earthly home with parents kind and dear. Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way. Teach me all that I LOVE YOU...

Asher: No! Teach me all that I'M A STEW...

Frankie: (skeptically) No...

Asher: Yeah, stew. It's like a soup.

Frankie: (shrugs) Teach me all that I'm a stew, to live with Him someday.

Actual lyrics: Teach me all that I MUST DO, to live with Him someday.

Friday Funnies - Seth

I received this darling story in my inbox last week... just when I needed it most. Here is a conversation between Seth and his sweet mommy Amy.

Seth: "Mommy, I want you to read me a book before I go to bed."

Mommy:  "Okay honey, you pick it out for me."

Seth brings his Mommy "The Cat in the Hat" and sits down with him to read it. Mommy gets through about five pages of the story when Seth asks, "Mommy, how come you don't taste the pages like my teacher Mrs. Cunningham does before she turns them?"

Ohh they're precious, aren't they?

Happy Friday!

Friday Funnies - Grace

Our next funny comes from this gorgeous Grace who recently had a visit from the tooth fairy herself.

"One day, after my daughter had lost her first tooth, we had ordered pizza. The pizza delivery man was missing some teeth. My little girl pointed at him and said, "Look, Mommy! He lost some of his baby teeth, too!" The man quickly handed me the pizza and left. I felt sorry for the man, but I smiled and hugged my daughter warmly."

Friday Funnies - Lucy

Welcome to our first Friday Funnies. These are real life moments in the life of real mamas. I'm telling you...I've got some funny ones, and I know you do too. This one is to die for awesome.

Ellen is the wife of a hottie named Jared and the Mother to an amusing (beautiful) daughter, Lucy who is 2. Here is their moment.

"So we were in Nordstrom looking at suits when Lucy turned to a young, African-American businessman speaking to a salesman. Immediately, Lucy started yelling at us, "Look! Obama! Obama!" and would not stop until Jared hurriedly picked her up and took her out of the store. Normally, she has a pretty good Obama-radar so we were surprised by her lack of deciphering skills.

Even better, however, was right after this encounter she saw an old white man and exclaimed, "Ron Paul!" (It's now very clear to me what Jared and Lucy have been up to while I've been at the gym.) Jared then had a talk with Lucy about how all black men are not President Obama and all old, white men are not Congressman Ron Paul.

Overgeneralizing is how toddlers attempt to make sense of their world so categorizing people according to which political figure they most closely resemble is to be expected, right? Well maybe not, but at least she's bipartisan." - Ellen from jaredandelle.blogspot.com
