Friday Funnies - Lucy

Welcome to our first Friday Funnies. These are real life moments in the life of real mamas. I'm telling you...I've got some funny ones, and I know you do too. This one is to die for awesome. 

Ellen is the wife of a hottie named Jared and the Mother to an amusing (beautiful) daughter, Lucy who is 2. Here is their moment.

 "So we were in Nordstrom looking at suits when Lucy turned to a young, African-American businessman speaking to a salesman. Immediately, Lucy started yelling at us, "Look! Obama! Obama!" and would not stop until Jared hurriedly picked her up and took her out of the store. Normally, she has a pretty good Obama-radar so we were surprised by her lack of deciphering skills.

Even better, however, was right after this encounter she saw an old white man and exclaimed, "Ron Paul!" (It's now very clear to me what Jared and Lucy have been up to while I've been at the gym.) Jared then had a talk with Lucy about how all black men are not President Obama and all old, white men are not Congressman Ron Paul.

Overgeneralizing is how toddlers attempt to make sense of their world so categorizing people according to which political figure they most closely resemble is to be expected, right? Well maybe not, but at least she's bipartisan." - Ellen from jaredandelle.blogspot.com
